Our History

The Foundation's Founding Members

Established on April 3rd, 1970

One of the many goals of the Polish Alliance of Canada, since its inception in 1907, has been to preserve and propagate the Polish language and culture amongst young Canadians of Polish descent.

At the beginning of 1967, the Head Executive Board of the Polish Alliance of Canada, under the presidency of Mr. Tadeusz Glista, renewed the formalization of the Polish Alliance Scholarship Fund. Two conventions later in 1969, after intensive debates and lobbying relating to issues such as the name, legal status, structure and by-laws, in 1970, the Wladyslaw Reymont Foundation was born and officially received its charter as a charitable organization.
